Using music to support mental health

Music Therapy at MHW gives young people and adults a safe space to express feelings that are hard to put into words. Working with qualified music therapists, people use instruments, voice, rhythm and songwriting to explore emotions, build confidence and process difficult experiences in a calm, supported environment. You don’t need to be “good at music” there’s no pressure and no performance. Sessions are about expression, not talent.

Funded support

Through MHW Foundation, we’re able to offer fully funded or subsidised music therapy sessions for people on low incomes or benefits, and for schools or community partners supporting vulnerable groups.

If you’d like to refer yourself, a child, or someone you work with, or you’re a school interested in a music therapy programme, get in touch with the MHW team to discuss availability and funding.
