MHW Foundation Partners with Active Communities Network to Strengthen Community Mental Health Support

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between MHW Foundation and Active Communities Network (ACN). Together, we’re working to improve mental health and wellbeing for young people and communities who are most at risk of disadvantage and inequality.

ACN is a youth and community development charity that uses sport, activities and positive opportunities to tackle inequality, inspire change and create pathways for young people.

MHW Foundation brings accessible mental health support, therapy and wellbeing programmes for individuals who might not otherwise be able to access help.

By combining our strengths, we aim to:

  • Embed mental health and wellbeing support into ACN’s community and youth programmes

  • Offer free or low cost counselling and therapy to young people and families engaged in ACN activities

  • Provide group workshops, mentoring and resilience building sessions around topics like anxiety, self esteem and coping with stress

  • Train and support staff and volunteers so they feel confident recognising mental health needs and signposting to help

  • Reach communities who are often overlooked by mainstream services, making support feel local, safe and relatable

Together we want to ensure that a young person who turns up for a session, workshop or community project can also find someone to talk to, access real support and see a positive future for themselves.
